November 2013

Dear Park Residents:

All Parks Alliance for Change (APAC) is a statewide association of Minnesota’s manufactured (mobile) home park residents. APAC is re-launching its legislative committee for the 2014 Minnesota Legislative Session. We invite you to join us at the first meeting:

Saturday, December 7 at 11:00 a.m.
Midtown Commons
2324 University Avenue
St. Paul, MN

Thanks to the support of residents throughout the state, APAC has been able to overcome the park owners’ team of registered lobbyists again and again to win a string of victories for residents at the State Capitol, including: establishing the Manufactured Home Relocation Trust Fund; protecting manufactured homeowners from predatory lending and repossession; preserving the right to choose how your manufactured home is installed; and blocking unfair water utility charges.

Currently, APAC is developing strategy for our top priorities for the 2014 Legislative Session as selected by members at our October 12 Annual Meeting, including:

  • Improve the Relocation Trust Fund
  • Require Park Manager Background Checks
  • Regulate Park Utilities
  • Define Manufactured Homes as Real Property

When you join the legislative committee, you can choose how much or how little you do, from coming to meetings and rallying at the State Capitol to simply calling your state legislators and keeping your neighbors informed.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us in the Twin Cities at 651-644-5525, in Greater Minnesota at 855-361-2722, or by e-mail at info@allparksallianceforchange.org.

Sincerely,

Dave Anderson
Executive Director
