Manufactured Home Park Handbook
On April 28th 2021, your park was sold to a Utah-based company called Havenpark Capital.
Havenpark operates over 7,500 home sites in manufactured home parks around the country, including in Minnesota, Iowa, and North Dakota. Havenpark has proposed major changes, including rent increases and new rules. What other changes are planned?
You Have Rights!
- THE RIGHT TO KEEP YOUR CURRENT LEASE – Under state law, you are not required to sign a new lease or rule agreement, even with a new park owner. You can continue your existing lease month-to-month.
- LEGAL PROTECTIONS AGAINST EVICTION – You can only be evicted for “good cause” and cannot be evicted for not signing a new lease.
- THE RIGHT TO ORGANIZE & SPEAK OUT – you have the legal right to ask questions and organize with your neighbors.
