All Parks Alliance for Change is the statewide organization for Minnesota’s 180,000 manufactured (mobile) home park residents. As the only organization of its kind in the state, APAC is critical to providing an effective voice for manufactured home owners to express their needs and concerns in their parks and in the larger community. Through education, grassroots organizing and leadership development, APAC works to improve the quality of life in park neighborhoods, protect the rights of park residents, advance public policy change that supports safe, affordable, and stable park communities, preserve these vital units of affordable housing, and promote racial justice.

This position is a part of the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits AmeriCorps VISTA program, which is comprised of 20 VISTA members committed to alleviating poverty in immigrant and refugee communities of color. Visit MCN's website to learn more at

Primary Duties:

1. Help to develop a system to monitor manufactured home park communities for the risk factors that can indicate the possibility of bankruptcy and foreclosure.

2. Recruit Latino and Hmong residents as community leaders in manufactured home parks.

3. Improve the educational resources and workshops provided about resident rights and park preservation strategies.

4. Increase the visibility of APAC and our park preservation program by building a stronger communications and marketing strategy.

5. Expand and maintain community partners, particularly housing advocates, affordable housing funders, and nonprofit developers.

-Ability to organize tasks, manage time and prioritize projects
-Basic competency on personal computer systems

-Ability to speak Spanish
-Familiarity with housing issues in general or manufactured housing in particular
- Previous community organizing experience.

Working Conditions:
APAC will provide an in-depth training and orientation to APAC’s past and current work, including insights into working with Latino and Hmong residents

The VISTA will attend weekly staff meetings and periodic coalition and resident association meetings. As a result, the VISTA will be exposed to the experiences of other neighborhood and racial justice organizers.

Salary & Benefits:

-Living stipend of $990 a month
-Over 120 hours of professional development support and training
-Professional development fund of $300/year
-Paid time off - 10 vacation days, 10 sick days, and 10 holidays
-End of service education award of $5,815 toward qualifying student loans OR $1,500 cash stipend award
